Calculator Dungeon - Patch Notes v0.3.0

Hello, Adventurers!

This update focuses on a major user interface overhaul and brings more life to the dungeon's inhabitants. Our goal is to give you more control over your play space and make the world feel more dynamic.

Sound effects removed temporarily will be replaced in 0.3.5 as that is the feature we plan on focusing before moving to 0.4.0

Key Features & Updates

  • Draggable & Resizable Game Window:
    • The main game interface is no longer locked in place! It is now a fully independent window that can be moved anywhere on the screen by clicking and dragging its top header bar.
    • You can also resize the window by dragging the bottom-right corner. The game map will automatically scale to show more (or less) of the dungeon based on the window's size. Customize your view!
  • New Independent Shop Window:
    • Visiting the shop is now a much smoother experience. Interacting with the Shopkeeper will open a new, separate window for all your buying and selling needs.
    • Just like the main game window, the shop can be moved and resized.
    • To ensure no accidental dungeon-crawling while shopping, player movement is paused while the shop window is open. Simply close it with the 'X' button to continue your adventure.
  • NPC Patrols:
    • The inhabitants of the dungeon are no longer static! The Shopkeeper will now wander around their room, making the environment feel more alive.
    • Hostile enemies will also patrol their areas. Be on your guard, as they may round a corner when you least expect it! When you get close, they will give chase as usual.

Bug Fixes & Quality of Life

  • Game End Flow: When you successfully bribe the guard and win the game, you will now be automatically returned to the calculator screen after a short delay, making it easier to start your next run.
  • UI Consistency: All window headers now share a standardized look and feel.
  • Input Handling: Fixed an issue where players could move while interacting with certain UI elements. All movement is now correctly paused when a window or modal requires your attention.

I say we as I am use to a team.. but it has been a while since I've worked on anything with anyone. I keep trying to give credit to invisible people. Gemini is a helpful tool i like the way it organizes code so I guess I am personifying a robot. But in reality It's just me-Andy
